This standard is modified with the USA ASTM A532/A532M-93a (2003) ‘Standard specification for wear-resistant cast iron’ and EU standard EN12513:2000N ‘CAST WEAR-RESISTANT CAST IRON’ and other foreign advanced standards of the relevant provisions.
Compared with ASTM A532/A532M-93a(2003), the structure was made more editorial. The main technical contents are revised as follows:
–Added standard terms and definitions for grinding ball;
–The differences of mechanical properties of different parts of the grinding ball are specified;
—Sample inspection rules have been added;
—Added the requirements of package, mark, and delivery.
This standard replaces GB/T17445-1988 ‘CAST IRON BALLS.’
Compared with GB/T17445-1988, the main technical contents are revised as follows:
– Reducing the cast iron balls diameter tolerance
– Added the grades of alloyed casting balls producing mould
– Altered alloyed casting balls chemical composition
– Martensitic ductile iron grinding ball grade is added;
– Increase the hardness of high chrome contenting alloyed cast iron balls
Appendix A, B, and C of this Standard Are Standard Appendices
