In this paper, the production process and properties of PD3 high-carbon wear-resistant steel ball were studied by field heat treatment process experiment, theoretical analysis of austenite recrystallization and numerical analysis of quenching temperature field, and the heat-treatment process suitable for mass production of steel ball was developed. Finally, excellent quality PD3 high-carbon wear-resistant steel ball was obtained. In order to find the ideal production process parameters of high-carbon wear-resistant steel ball and optimize the production process of wear-resistant steel ball, this paper designed the heat treatment process of high-carbon steel ball under different conditions, and carried out field production experiment and laboratory experiment respectively. The gleeble-1500D thermal simulator was used to simulate the high temperature deformation heat treatment process of high carbon steel under different conditions. Determine the true stress-strain curve under a variety of process, to observe the dynamic recrystallization of austenite, studied the deformation temperature and deformation rate on the effect of dynamic recrystallization process of austenitic, and combining the theory of recrystallization kinetics analysis, obtained the ideal heat treatment process, produced with high hardness and impact toughness of the steel ball products. In order to control and further improve the quality of steel balls, the author compiled a program to simulate the temperature field during the quenching process of steel balls, and gave some calculation results of the software. The simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental data.
